Lisa Kahan has over 25 years of experience in college admissions, school counseling, and educational consulting. Before transitioning into education, she was one of the two original members of the New York Human Resources team at Bloomberg LP, where she helped support the company's rapid global growth.

Throughout her career, Lisa has worked with students and families from diverse backgrounds, guiding them through every stage of the college planning and admissions process. She spent many years counseling students in Westchester County high schools and now works with a leading global college admissions organization, where she specializes in helping both U.S. and international students apply to highly selective colleges and universities. In this role, she collaborates with former admissions officers daily from institutions including Yale, Harvard, Princeton, Penn, Northwestern, and the University of Chicago, giving her valuable insight into today's highly competitive admissions landscape.

Lisa works closely with each student to develop an authentic application strategy that reflects their interests, strengths, and goals. She believes the strongest applications tell a genuine story and helps students build compelling narratives that distinguish them in an increasingly competitive applicant pool.

Her students have been admitted to a wide range of outstanding colleges and universities, including Ivy League institutions, top public universities, leading STEM programs, and other highly respected schools. While she has extensive experience with selective admissions, Lisa believes that finding the right college fit is just as important as gaining admission to a prestigious institution. She encourages students to approach the process with curiosity, confidence, and an open mind while identifying colleges that align with their academic interests, values, learning style, and long-term goals.

In addition to her admissions expertise, Lisa has advanced training in the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® (MBTI), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT STEPS-A for Schools), and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI). She has developed and presented workshops on college planning, building a strong admissions profile, the Common Application, activity descriptions, resumes, interviews, career exploration, stress management, and emotional regulation.

Lisa holds an Educational Masters in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in School Counseling and a Masters in Organizational Psychology from Columbia University- Teacher’s College.

Jeanette Kocur

Jeanette brings more than three decades of experience in education, school counseling, academic planning, and educational leadership. Her career has spanned every level of the educational journey—from elementary school teacher to high school counselor, Director of School Counseling, Master Scheduler and educational consultant—giving her a unique and comprehensive understanding of how to support students throughout their academic careers.

For 18 years, Jeanette served as the Director of School Counseling at Hastings-on-Hudson High School in Westchester County, where she led college counseling initiatives, supported students and families through the college admissions process, collaborated with faculty and administrators, and developed programs to support student success. In this role, she gained extensive experience in academic planning, course selection, graduation requirements, standardized testing, and helping students identify pathways aligned with their goals and strengths.

In addition to her counseling and administrative expertise, Jeanette has developed a specialized understanding of school scheduling and academic programming. As a Master School Scheduler, she works with school districts to analyze course offerings, student needs, staffing, and facility resources to create effective and balanced schedules that maximize opportunities for students.

Throughout her career, Jeanette has been a passionate student advocate, working closely with students, families, educators, and administrators to ensure students have the support and resources they need to succeed. Her ability to understand schools from both a student and administrative perspective provides families with valuable insight into academic planning, educational opportunities, and the college preparation process.

Jeanette holds a Master of Science in Educational Leadership and Administration as well as a Master of Science in Counselor Education and School Counseling from The College of New Rochelle. She has also served as an instructor at The College of New Rochelle, sharing her expertise and experience with future educators and counselors.
